Between the silences

There is no way out
but to meet
the spaces.

Here discover how unstill
we are; how we get in
our way.

Our busy, crazy minds.
Wanting, not wanting.

When we sit, a possibility.
Freeing from memory and desire.

Let’s go and wallpaper the room
where we can repeat things
we already know.

Drawn back in on the silences
of the notes that makes
the mind an instrument.

Awareness adjusts the
out of time, the
out of balance.

Arriving
at the place
where nothing
has no end.*

* Musaemura Zimunya, Cattle in the rain

This was inspired by Mark Epstein whose work ‘Advice not Given’ is a brilliant fusion of psychology with Buddhist practice.
